Feature 1: Micro-Spotwelder Spot Welding Power Supply for Fine Wires
This time, we introduce our Micro-spotwelder, one of the more specialized products in our lineup.
In physics experiments and similar applications, silver paste is commonly used to attach fine wires to samples. However, bonding microwires with silver paste is extremely difficult because the paste can dry within seconds. Applying extra paste to prevent drying can make it difficult to bond within a small area.
Excess silver paste may also become the dominant conductive path affecting the electrical characteristics of the circuit.
With 30µm gold wires, precise positioning is also difficult. Common issues include the wire moving before the paste cures, short circuits caused by excess paste spreading to nearby areas, and bonded wires detaching later due to heat or vibration.
The Micro-spotwelder creates reliable fine-wire connections under a stereo microscope by forming a metallurgical bond between the wire and the sample.
Advantages of Micro-Spotwelding
・Secure wire attachment through direct welding
・Unlike silver paste, it creates a much smaller bonding area, allowing work in confined spaces
・Can weld wires as thin as 10µm when used with a stereo microscope or digital microscope
・Can also weld fine wires to each other
・Stable joints provide excellent reproducibility
Product Features
Provides precise adjustment even in the micro-current range, with highly stable output
・Reduces thermal impact on the electrodes
・Stable joints provide excellent reproducibility
・Reduces thermal impact on the electrode
・Capable of welding highly thermally conductive metals and dissimilar metals
・Enables clean welding with minimal dust and spatter
・Digital control enables continuous monitoring of settings, resistance, and current values

In addition to the main unit, a specially processed tungsten probe is used as the electrode. Please consult with us regarding the positioning system as well.
Feature 2: The World's Finest-Tipped Tweezers? Introducing Our Ultra-Precision Tweezers
In this issue, we are pleased to introduce the ultra-precision tweezers we have developed for demanding microscopic handling applications.
Fine-tipped tweezers are commercially available; however, it is difficult to find tweezers capable of gripping objects smaller than 100µm under microscopic observation.
To meet this need, we developed precision machining technology for use under a microscope, allowing us to manufacture tweezers with an exceptionally fine tip geometry of 15μm × 15μm, which we believe is the finest in the world based on our internal research.
Precision Tweezers Lineup
– Tip size: 15µm × 15µm (TW-1515), 1 pc/pkg
– Tip size: 25µm × 25µm (TW-2525), 1 pc/pkg
– Tip size: 50µm × 50µm (TW-5050), 1 pc/pkg
TW-1515 and TW-2525 are ultra-precision models designed for use under a microscope. To minimize the risk of tip damage during manual handling, we recommend using these tweezers with a micromanipulator and Microtweezers system.
